Imago Theatre Group brings to life Sharad Joshi’s iconic political satire Andhon Ka Hathi, a play that uses razor-sharp humor and allegory to critique the fragmented perceptions of truth and authority. Inspired by the ancient parable of the blind men and the elephant, the play follows a group of blind individuals, each interpreting a different part of the elephant and arguing over its true form. Their absurd conflict becomes a powerful metaphor for the way leaders, institutions, and societies often grasp only parts of complex realities—yet claim to understand the whole.
Originally penned during the turbulent political landscape of the 1970s, Joshi’s satire remains deeply relevant today, speaking to the ongoing crises of governance, perception, and truth. With inventive direction by Kaleem Zafar, this production promises a dynamic and engaging theatrical experience, balancing biting commentary with theatrical flair.
Produced by Sanjay & Kulsum Sujitabh, Andhon Ka Hathi is a must-watch for audiences seeking theatre that provokes, entertains, and resonates long after the curtain falls.
Join us on August 17, 2025, for an evening of intelligent satire and unforgettable performance.
